Colombo (News 1st): The Grade 5 scholarship examination was held today (11), under strict health regulations. 331,694 candidates sat for the exam at 2,936 examination centres across the island. 

5 students receiving treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH)  sat for the exam at the hospital premises. The students were invigilated by an official of the Department of Examinations.

Many students in the Gampaha District, where a COVID-19 cluster was recently detected sat for the grade 5 scholarship exam adhering to the health guidelines prescribed by officials.

Public Health Inspectors were not on duty at examination centres while Police officials were assigned to maintain order among parents who escorted their children to the examination centres.
