A group of senior police officers have been transferred under the approval of the National Police commission, based on the service requirement.

It is reported that Eight DIGs, one Senior Superintendent of Police, one Superintendent of Police and three Assistant Superintendents of Police have been transfered.

Besides the post of DIG Legal Range Ajith Rohana has been made the Media Spokesperson of the Police Department.

Accordingly, Jaliya Senaratne who was the Director of Police Public Relations Division and Police Media Spokesperson has been transferred as the Personal Assistant to the Senior DIG in charge of the Northern Province.

The police said that this particular transfer was done owing to disciplinary reasons.
