COLOMBO (News 1st): Operations at the Minuwangoda Police station that was closed temporarily, resumed this afternoon (Oct. 10), Sri Lanka Police said. "The police station was opened following disinfection and obtaining the necessary approval from health authorities," Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ajith Rohana said. He said, "80 officers from other police stations in the Gampaha police division and officers from Police Training Colleges in Kalutara, Nikaweratiya, Pahalagama, Boralanda, Kundasale, and Elpitiya, were assigned to the Minuwangoda Police station." The 85 officers attached to the Minuwangoda Police Station are currently quarantined and PCR tests are also being conducted, the Deputy Police Chief further noted. Minuwangoda Police station was closed yesterday (Oct. 08), after the person operating the cafeteria at the Police station tested positive for COVID-19.
