COLOMBO (News 1st): A total of 16 COVID-19 positive cases were confirmed from other parts of the country excluding the Gampaha district, following PCR tests conducted two days ago, Army Commander – Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said on Thursday (Oct. 08).
“COVID-19 has spread to several districts in the country; meaning, COVID-19 infected individuals were detected from areas such as Matale, Badulla, Ampara, Anuradhapura, Monaragala, and Kurunegala,” Army Commander – Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva who heads the National Operation Centre on Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), told News 1st.
The Army Commander said, “It is the social responsibility of all Sri Lankan citizens to ensure that you do not get infected with the virus. To do so, you must act in adherence to health guidelines issued by the relevant authorities.”
