COLOMBO (News1st): The education ministry will publish a form on its website to collect details of candidates attempting the Grade Five scholarship and Advanced Level exams, officials said.
"We will update this information daily in the morning and evening at exam centres as well," education secretary Prof. Kapila Perera said during a media briefing on Tuesday.
The government announced that it will go ahead with the twice-delayed state exams despite the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in the country.
"If a candidate is infected with COVID-19, we will allow the candidate to attempt the exam from the IDH hospital under the eyes of a supervisor," the secretary added.
Education minister, Prof. G.L. Peiris said that a special workplan has been prepared cocnerning candidates from the Gampaha district, in which several areas are under curfew.
"We have paid special attention to ensure that examination centres are disinfected and that face masks are worn during the exam," Peiris told reporters.
The Grade Five Scholarship exam will be held on Sunday, while the Advanced Level exams will begin next Monday and run until November 6.
