2000 PCR Tests to be conducted in Gampaha today

PCR tests on workers & staff across all factories in the Gampaha ; Health Ministry

Colombo (News 1st); PCR tests of almost 2000 people including apparel workers at the factory in Divulapitiya in the Gampaha District, their close associates as well school children will take place on Monday (05) said the Ministry of Health.

The Minuwangoda Hospital and the Iranawila COVID-19 treatment Hospital will be used to provide treatment for COVID-19 infected patients in the Gampaha District, said the Health Ministry.

The Gampaha Hospital will be used to admit and test suspected COVID-19 cases.

Further, workers and staff across all factories in the Gampaha District will be subject to PCR tests by the authorities.

The Ministry of Health will also form a team of specialists to observe and empower the COVID-19 treatment process at hospitals in the Gampaha District.

The Ministry of Health also decided to increase the number of daily PCR tests and to ensure there is no shortage of PPE and other necessary equipment for the essential workers.
