Wildlife officers arrest two suspects

COLOMBO (News1st): Two individuals have been arrested by wildlife department officers for sand mining, and for the possession of firecrackers to chase elephants. One suspect had been arrested for engaging in illegal sand mining in Mailankulam in the Thabbowa wildlife sanctuary. Equipment that was used for sand mining had been seized by wildlife officers at the time of the arrest. Wildlife officers who inspected the Neliweva area arrested another individual for the possession of fire crackers used to chase away elephants.
