Two nabbed with turmeric in Mannar

COLOMBO (News1st): Two suspects have been arrested with turmeric during a raid carried out at the Thalpadu beach in Mannar, the Navy said. More than 902 kilograms of turmeric packed in 19 sacks were recovered during a raid carried out in the area, according to the Navy. The suspects have been identified as residents of Mannar, and have been handed over to the medical officer of health in the area to undergo quarantine. The seized turmeric has been handed over to the Jaffna Customs Office for further investigations, the navy noted.
