Colombo (News 1st);
Rural schools across Sri Lanka received a much-needed boost thanks to a new learning initiative launched by #Gammadda in partnership with the University of Moratuwa.
Sri Lanka’s largest rural development movement and the nation’s leading engineering university launched the #TechBusSL, a deep blue, technology packed Semi-trailer truck at the Takshila Maha Vidyalaya School in Mahawilachchiya, Anuradhapura today, to coincide with #ChildrendsDay on Oct.1st.
The #TechBusSL consists of demonstrable technology, in a ‘show-n-tell’ one-day programme aimed at providing a digital experience to students including robotic devices.
The experience was designed keeping student engagement and collaboration in mind, including a Design Lab to be launched later.
“The #TechbusSL will bring leading tech-trends to young Sri Lankans who have the least access to it, while providing an experience that is fun and inspirational”, noted Chevaan Daniel of Gammadda.
#TechBusSL is expected to tour many parts of the island and expand beyond schools as well, taking technology to rural communities across Sri Lanka.
