Colombo (News 1st); Former Director of the Criminal Investigations Department Shani Abeysekera and two other suspects in the case filed over creating false evidence were returned to remand custody until the 16th of October by Gampaha Magistrate Manjula Karunaratne. 

Ex-Director of the CID Shani Abeysekera, Ambilitiya Police Sub-Inspector Rohana Mendis, and Retired Sub Inspector Nawaratne Premathilake, who were arrested and remanded on the charges of fabricating false evidence and misleading courts, against Former DIG Vass Gunawardena & several others, were thus remanded once again on Friday (02).
