New constitution cannot contain any amendment including 13th; Ven. Abhayatissa Thero

Further, he questioned the right of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to dictate terms with regard to the implementation of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in return for the US $ 15 million grant assistance to Sri Lanka.

"We are ready to even sacrifice our lives to prevent any attempt to bring Indian colonial rule to Sri Lanka," said the Venerable Thero.

If a new constitution is to be presented, there cannot be a 13th Amendment or any form of an amendment, stressed the Venerable Thero.
