Legality on President's verbal circulars must be studied : Udaya Gammanpila

COLOMBO (News1st): The legality of the president's statement stating that his verbal orders would be considered as circulars must be studied, joint cabinet spokesman Udaya Gammanpila said. "This is a new concept, the president presented this concept and now it is the duty of the lawyers to ascertain to what extent this is legal," Gammanpila told reporters on Tuesday. He noted that it would not be possible to comment on the matter until it is studied. However, cabinet minister Keheliya Rambukwella told media it was important to look at the brighter side of the statement made by the President. "Rather than turning this into a joke I think it is important to see the targets expected to reach through this," he said.
