COLOMBO (News1st): Parliamentarian Imthiaz Bakeer Markar has raised questions on the entity that has exerted influence over presenting the 20th amendment in parliament without making revisions.
Markar pointed out that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa had appointed a committee to study the 20th amendment and recommend changes to it.
“They completely disregarded this committee and said that the draft bill of the 20th amendment will be presented in its original form,” the parliamentarian noted.
He observed that some parliamentarians have denied involvement over this.
