Time Keeper arrested for soliciting Rs. 100/- as a bribe

Colombo (News 1st); The Time Keeper of the Aralaganvila Bus Stand was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on Thursday (24) for soliciting a bribe of Rs. 100/- from a bus conductor.
The Time Keeper had requested for the bribe to permit the bus to remain stationary at the Aralaganvila Bus Stand and to board passengers until the time of departure.
SSP Padmini Weerasuriya, the Investigations Director of the Bribery Commission speaking to News 1st said the arrest was made following a complaint received via the 1954 tip-line.
The suspect is to be produced at the Polonnaruwa Magistrate's Court.
