Colombo (News 1st); Ex-Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne appeared at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe incidents of Political Victimization to provide evidence on a complaint filed by Former Additional Customs Director Tharaka Senevirate and Former Customs Director-General Jagath Wijeweera on Wednesday (23).

The complainants Tharaka Senevirate & Jagath Wijeweera state they were arrested on false charges of handing over 08 kilograms of gold confiscated by Sri Lanka Customs to the Sri Lanka Navy to deposit inside the Sandahiru Seya, in an improper manner.

They claimed the arrests during the Yahapalana (Government of Good Governance) administration was politically motivated.

The Ex-Minister was named as a respondent in the complaint.
