Import on batik and other fabrics lifted discreetly : Dayasiri

COLOMBO (News1st): The import restrictions imposed on batik and other related fabrics have been lifted discreetly, state minister Dayasiri Jayasekara has said. "I hope to discuss with the President and Prime Minister, and impose a permanent ban on this," the state minister of Batik said on Sunday. He added that the existing ban imposed by the President had been revised due to the pressure of certain "powerful entities". "I express regret over this decision that had been made without the knowledge of the subject minister," Jayasekara stated.
