Draft 20A report not presented to Cabinet; Mahinda Amaraweera

Speaking to reporters following the conclusion of the meeting of Cabinet Ministers, Mahinda Amaraweera said the constitution was discussed and the President had stressed he takes responsibility for the matter.

"The President said the 20th Amendment to the Constitution is a temporary measure," said Mahinda Amaraweera adding the President said a new constitution will be presented in an expeditious manner and any issue would be rectified to prepare a people-friendly constitution.

"The President said he would take responsibility for the 20th Amendment to the Constitution as its creator," said the State Minister.
