13th COVID-19 death reported from Sri Lanka

The Government Information Department quoting Senior Epidemiologist Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said the victim was a 60-year-old Sri Lankan returnee from Bahrain and passed away at the Chilaw General Hospital. 

The victim had returned to Sri Lanka on the 02nd of September and had not tested positive for COVID-19 upon arrival however, while he was undergoing quarantine, he was admitted to the Chilaw General Hospital on the 09th of September, said the Government Information Department. 

It added cardiac arrest can be ruled as the closest cause of death.
