Colombo (News 1st);  The Meegahawatte Police seized 23 kilograms of heroin following a raid in Heiyanthuduwa, Sapugaskanda.

The heroin was discovered hidden inside two speakers inside a carpentry shed located along Samagi Mawatha in Heiyanthuduwa, Sapugaskanda.

One suspect was arrested, said Sri Lanka Police adding details about the stock of heroin were uncovered following the interrogation of two suspects arrested on a previous occasion.

The suspect who was arrested on Wednesday (02) had revealed the heroin was given to him by a Police Constable attached to the Colombo Crimes Division.

A Police Investigation is underway to arrest the Police Constable who had fled the area.
