Colombo (News 1st);  Web Journalist Desmond Chathuranga De Alwis was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department on Monday (31) evening.

The CID arrest De Alwis as his residence located at Boralesgamuwa on the outskirts of Colombo.

Mobile Phones and Laptops owned by Desmond Chathuranga De Alwis were seized by the detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department.

It was reported, the web journalist was charged for allegedly publishing reports which are in contempt of court and the judicial process.
