COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka on Sunday (Aug 30), surpassed the 3000 mark in COVID-19 cases after 17 people tested positive for the virus, health officials said.
“12 returnees from the United Arab Emirates, three returnees from the Maldives, and two Indian sailors were confirmed COVID-19 positive yesterday (Aug 30), the Department of Government Information said.
Thereby, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka stands at 3012, official data shows.
According to the latest figures published by the Epidemiology Unit at the Ministry of Health, there are 140 active COVID-19 patients receiving treatment.
The total number of recoveries in the country stands at 2860.
