Army officer injured in accident

COLOMBO (News1st): An army officer attached to the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya was severely injured in an accident on Sunday. The accident had taken place when a motor vehicle had crashed onto the temple after the driver had lost control due to speeding. "Nothing happened although I hit the breaks," the driver said. He was arrested by the police. The soldier who was injured in the incident, that damaged the entrance of the temple, is being treated at the Kandy National Hospital. The suspect has been identified as a 55-year old of resident of Peradeniya.
