Over 2000 SL migrant workers infected with COVID-19: SLBFE

COLOMBO (News 1st): More than 2000 Sri Lankan migrant workers have been infected with COVID-19, Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment said. Among those infected, close to 400 migrant workers, have recovered," Mangala Randeniya, the Deputy General Manager at the Bureau said on Saturday (Aug 29). According to Randeniya, 52 Sri Lankan migrant workers died after contracting coronavirus, as of Friday (Aug 28). "Information on Sri Lankan migrant workers with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic was recorded from 16 countries," he further noted.
