Colombo (News 1st); There is no difference between a Cabinet Minister and State Minister in the present government, claimed Leader of the Jathika Jana Balavegaya Anura Kumara Dissanayake adding a loop-hole in the constitution was used to form the post of State Ministers.

Highlighting the fact both Cabinet and State Ministers are given Secretaries, Financial Allocations, and equal perks, Dissanayake said State Ministers were in fact created because there are limitations to the Cabinet.

“The State Minister of Internal Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management is Chamal Rajapaksa, however, he has no control over the military,” noted Anura Kumara Dissanayake adding the President in violation of the constitution is unofficially serving as the Minister responsible Defence.
