COLOMBO (News 1st): The 2020 GCE Ordinary Level examination will take place from 18th to 27th January 2021, the Ministry of Education said on Friday (Aug 28).

All schools will be closed during the said period of the exam, the Education Ministry said in a statement.

The Education Ministry further noted that following the conclusion of the O/L examination, schools will re-open on the 1st of February.

According to the Education Ministry, the period from 1st to 18th January 2021, will be a study leave ONLY for students sitting for the GCE O/L examination.

Meanwhile, the 3rd term school holidays for 2020 will be from 24th December to 1st January and the first term for 2021 will begin on 4th January.
