Cabinet approves Vote On Account which will be presented to Parliament

Colombo (News 1st);  The Cabinet of Ministers gave the green light for the Vote on Account which will be presented to Parliament.

Cabinet Spokesperson (Minister) Keheliya Rambukwella speaking to News 1st, said the Vote on Account will be for the next 04 months.

The Vote on Account for Rs. 1300 Billion for the period from 01st September to when a Budget is approved, will be debated in Parliament on Thursday (27) and Friday (28).

The Sri Lanka Parliament tweeted noting the Resolution to borrow a sum not exceeding Rs. 750 billion through the issue of the Treasury Bills under Section 2(1) of the Local Treasury Bills Ordinance will also be taken up for debate.

It added the Motion to appoint the Committee on Parliament Business will be presented to the Parliament tomorrow (27).

Thereafter, the names of the relevant Members of the Committee will be announced to the Parliament by the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.

The Sri Lanka Parliament also tweeted, the composition of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) and the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) will be also approved tomorrow.
