02 inter-city trains halted due to COVID-19 to resume on weekends: Dept. of Railways

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Railways on Wednesday (Aug 26), decided to resume operations of two inter-city trains that were temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only during the weekends. Accordingly, the train operating from Mount Lavinia to Kankasanthurai will operate on the 29th, 30th, 31st of August and 1st September as per the usual time table. The Department added plans are underway to resume operations of the train operating from Colombo Fort to Badulla on the 28th, 30th, 31st of August and 1st September.
