23 COVID-19 patients were identified yesterday.
23 quarantined people from Kuwait, Turkey, Chennai, and the United Arab Emirates have been identified as active COVID-19 cases, According to the Government Information Department.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the country so far is at 2941.
141 infected people are being treated at hospitals while 2789 people infected with the virus have been recovered so far, The Government Information Department stated.
At present there are no reports of COVID-19 cases within the community, the Chief Epidemiologist at the Epidemiology Unit, Dr. Sudath Samaraweera stated.
