Electricity Supply To Be Restored In a Few Hours; Committee To Probe Breakdown

Colombo (News 1st); Dullas Alahapperuma, the new Minister of Power speaking to News 1st from the National Control Room said the CEB engineers are working towards restoring the supply of electricity.
The Minister said the electricity supply will most likely be restored in a few hours.
The Ministry Secretary was instructed to appoint a committee to study the situation and uncover the cause for the breakdown in the entire electricity supply system, said Minister Alahapperuma.
The committee is expected to produce a report to the Minister within a week.
Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said the engineers are determined to ensure the 2016 black-out does not repeat in 2020.
