SJB leader allowed to choose national list MPs

COLOMBO (News1st): The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader will be allowed to chose the party's national list representatives, allied parties said on Tuesday. "We have asked Sajith Premadasa to make a decision and that we will agree with him," Rishad Bathiudeen, leader of the All Ceylon Makkal Congress said. Mano Ganesan, the leader of the Tamil Progressive Alliance, and leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, Rauff Hakeem also expressed similar views. This was after leaders of parties affiliated to the SJB met at the party headquarters to discuss on the appointment of the seven national list seat representatives on Tuesday. "We will make room for the talented to obtain national list seats for the betterment of the country," Bathiudeen said. Sajith Premadasa, the SJB leader, told reporters that the names of the national list representatives would be gazetted in near future.
