Colombo (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna announced on Saturday (08) the new Cabinet of Minister will be sworn in, only after the National List is published via Gazette.
General Secretary of the SLPP Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam speaking to News 1st said the new Cabinet of Minister will be sworn in after the 11th of August.
The National Elections Commission has informed the General Secretaries of the respective political parties to submit their National List MPs within 07 days.
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna which secured a resounding win at the August 05th General Election won 17 National List MP seats while the Samagi Jana Balavegaya won 07 National List MP seats.
The Jathika Jana Balavegaya, Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi, All Ceylon Tamil Congress, Our People or Power Party and the United National Party each won one National List MP seat.
The SLPP submitted its list of 17 names to the National Elections Commission on Friday (07).
The SJB said it is yet to finalize the list of National List MPs.
Former MP Daya Gamage said the United National Party is yet to reach a decision on its solo National List MP seat.
