Colombo (News 1st);  President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said as the first South Asian country to hold general elections amidst COVID-19, it reflects the confidence that Sri Lankans have in the efforts to control the pandemic.

The President further tweeted, he was glad to know today’s (05) all-island voter turnout was nearly 71%.
