All-island Voter Turnout is at 50% - NEC Chairman

COLOMBO (News 1st): As of 3:00 pm on Wednesday (Aug 5), the all-island Voter Turnout is at 50%, said Mahinda Deshapriya, the Chairman of the National Elections Commission.  The highest voter turnout of 70% is recorded from Nuwara-Eliya. The breakdown of the voter turnout as of 3:00 pm is as follows: Colombo - 51% Kalutara - 60% Matara - 60% Puttalam - 52% Galle - 55% Kurunegala - 55% Jaffna - 53.38% Mullaitivu - 61.7% Hambantota - 60% Kilinochchi - 57% Kegalle - 60% Trincomalee - 50% Kandy - 55% Monaragala - 56% Ratnapura - 67.5% Badulla - 60% Ampara - 55.2% Polonnaruwa - 55% Gampaha - 53% Matale - 62% Nuwara Eliya - 70% Mannar - 62% Anuradhapura - 50% Batticaloa - 55% Vavuniya - 56%
