COLOMBO (News1st): President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has expressed his fullest support towards Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s ambitions to develop Kurunegala.

The President had said that all irrigation facilities in the district would be refurbished to boost agricultural activities in the area, according to a statement issued by the President’s Media Division.

The President had made these remarks during a tour in Kurunegala while campaigning for the candidates of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna contesting for the district.

During his tour in the district, President Rajapaksa first attended a meeting at the Melsiripura area in Hiriyala, and then attended a rally at the Sathyavadi ground.
