Department of Archaeology to conduct surveillance on archaeological sites from Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Archaeology has decided to conduct surveillance on archaeological sites from Colombo by using CCTV systems. "Under the first step, CCTV systems have been installed at 20 archaeological sites around the country and the cameras are connected to the head office of the Department of Archaeology located in Colombo, through special software," Prof. Senarath Dissanayake, the Director-General of the Department said on Friday (July 10). According to the Director-General, the department can monitor the archaeological sites through this new system, throughout the year.
