Colombo (News 1st); The Public Health Inspectors Union (PHIU) says the COVID-19 guidelines are yet to be legalized in Sri Lanka.
Chairman of the PHI Union Upul Rohana speaking to News 1st said the warnings issued by the PHIs on COVID-19 were disregarded and to-date the regulations imposed for the control of COVID-19 are yet to be published via Gazette by the Ministry of Health.
“Election meetings and rallies organized across the country following the funeral of the late Thondaman are mocking the sacrifices made by frontline workers,” said the PHI Union Chief.
The Public Health Inspectors Union calls for the guidelines relating the election be published via gazette immediately adding if this situation continues PHIs will have to step away from their duties considering their own safety and force the Health Ministry to take sole responsibility.
