Shipment of Illicit Turmeric Seized in Puttalam

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A suspect has been arrested in the Palavi, Puttalam for the illegal possession of 994 kg and 150 g of turmeric, which had been smuggled into the country without paying customs duties.
The arrest was made following a raid conducted by officers of the Crimes Investigation Bureau in Puttalam Division.
The suspect is a 34-year-old resident of Norochcholai.
