Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Association of Government Medical Laboratory Technologists in a letter to the President claim there are serious concerns with regard to the medical reports issued by the Ministry of Health.

SLAGMLT President Ravi Kumudesh said at a time when Health Ministry laboratories used for PCR testing have not even reached their full capacity, it is unclear as to why PCR tests are carried out by external laboratories.

In the letter, Sri Lanka Association of Government Medical Laboratory Technologists states the report which claimed a person from Jinthupitiya in Colombo tested positive for COVID-19 was not released by a laboratory affiliated with the Ministry of Health.

The SLAGMLT requests the President to conduct an inquiry and census on the laboratories affiliated with the Ministry of Health.
