COLOMBO (News1st): Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has said that any entity cannot bargain and fulfil their needs in exchange for supporting his camp. The Prime Minister, on Thursday, recalled it was believed that a President needs the votes of the Northern and Eastern regions to be elected to power. "This assumption was proved wrong during the presidential election last year," Rajapaksa remarked. He said editors of Tamil media outlets, during a meeting on Thursday, had admitted that the parliamentarians in those provinces had not served the public in a proper manner. "To us, the provinces never mattered. All we cared about was developing this country as a whole," the Prime Minister pointed out.
