Total COVID-19 cases at 2047: Recoveries at 1711

COLOMBO (News 1st): The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country, as of Wednesday (July 1), stands at 2047, according to the Ministry of Health. "Five new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed yesterday and all were Sri Lankans who returned to the island from Oman," the Government Information Department said on Wednesday. Latest data from the Epidemiology Unit at the Ministry of Health, show that 325 active COVID-19 patients are receiving medical treatment. The total number of recoveries increased to 1711 after 33 patients were discharged on Tuesday (June 30) following recovery. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 11 people in Sri Lanka.
