COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police have launched investigations to seize the official vehicles that are yet to be handed over by Former Ministers and MPs.
This is based on instructions issued by the National Election Commission.
According to a high ranking police officer, police officers-in-charge of Chilaw, Kandy and Polonnaruwa jurisdictions have been instructed in this regard.
“Three candidates contesting from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna for the upcoming general election, have failed to hand over six official vehicles,” the high ranking officer said on Wednesday (July 1).
According to Sri Lanka Police, the relevant candidates have been personally informed to hand over the vehicles.
