Police Narcotic Bureau placed under a new DIG

Colombo (News 1st); DIG G.K.J. Aponsu was appointed as DIG in-charge of the Police Narcotic Bureau following approval from the National Police Commission.
The NPC said approval was also given to transfer DIG Sanjeewa Medawatte, who was in-charge of the PNB, to the Police Welfare Division.
The National Police Commission said the transfers were made following the recommendation of Acting Inspector General of Police C. D. Wickremeratne.
The respective documented approval would be issued on Thursday after the National Police Commission meets for discussions.
