COLOMBO (News 1st): The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country as of Monday (June 29), stands at 2037, health officials said.
According to the Government Information Department, 04 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Sunday (June 28) night.
“The 04 cases were a returnee each from Bangladesh, Kuwait, India and Pakistan and they were quarantined at the Waskaduwa quarantine facility, Trincomalee, Diyathalawa and at the Waikkal quarantine facility, respectively,” the Government Information Department noted.
There are 365 active COVID-19 patients receiving medical treatment, according to the Epidemiology Unit at the Ministry of Health.
The total number of recoveries increased to 1661 after 22 patients were discharged on Sunday following recovery.
Meanwhile, the President’s Media Division announced that the quarantine curfew imposed over the island since 20th March 2020 was completely lifted with effect from Sunday (June 28th).
