National Museums open from July 1st

Make an appointment to avoid inconvenience when visiting National Museums

Colombo (News 1st); Museums that come under the purview of the Department of National Museums will be open daily to the general public from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM, except for public holidays.

The Department of National Museums said a maximum of 15 visitors will be permitted to enter the premises at a time and the gates will be open for visitors every thirty minutes.

" Any inconvenience can be avoided if visitors can call the respective museum ahead and make an appointment for the visit ", said the department adding information can be obtained by logging on to www.museum.gov.lk.

A statement from the Director-General of the Department of National Museums notes all museums will re-commence operation following strict health guidelines.

The statement was issued with regard to the following museums in Sri Lanka;

*Colombo National Museum

*National Museum of Natural History

*Dutch Museum

*Kandy National Museum

*Ratnapura National Museum

*Galle National Museum

*Maritime Museum

*Anuradhapura Folk Museum

*Independence Memorial Museum

*Magampura Ruhunu Heritage Museum

*Ancient Technology Museum in Polonnaruwa
