COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police arrested a total of 72,284 people over curfew violations, since the quarantine curfew was imposed on the 20th of March in a bid to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Police, of the total curfew violators arrested, legal action was filed against 31,377 people and 14,595 of them were penalized.
A total of 20,681 vehicles were seized during this period over curfew violations.
The President’s Media Division yesterday announced the quarantine curfew imposed over the island since 20th March was completely lifted with effect from Sunday (June 28th).
