Colombo (News 1st); Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva on Thursday said delegating duties will not allow getting away from the responsibilities and insisted that Sri Lanka Army should function in a way to justify every cent consumed from the taxpayers.
He made this comment addressing the ‘Refresher Training Workshop for Brigade Commanders’ as part of the ‘Formulation of Way Forward Strategy for Sri Lanka Army 2020 – 2025’.
“You may delegate your authority to subordinates but you never can get away from the responsibility and accountability of their action. Correcting the actions of the men under you is your responsibility”, stressed the Army Commander to a gathering of 73 Brigadiers.
Commenting on the country’s COVID-19 situation, the Army Commander said paid a glowing tribute to the ‘disciplined’ people of the country for their assistance and support to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
