COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka’s coronavirus cases topped 2000, three months since the virus started spreading in the country, health ministry figures showed.

The coronavirus started spreading in the country on March 11 and has since infected 2001 among which 11 had died, according to the health ministry.

Navy personnel have accounted for a majority of the cases with 901 being affected, while 665 patients have been of Sri Lankans who returned from overseas.
