Foreign Employment Bureau to conduct a survey on SL migrant workers returned due to COVID-19

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment will conduct a survey regarding Sri Lankan migrant workers who returned to the island due to the COVID-19 outbreak. "Data will be collected to ensure the job security of those workers," Mangala Randeniya, the General Manager at the Foreign Employment Bureau said on Monday (June 22). Around 7000 Sri Lankan migrant workers have returned to the island from South Korea, Italy, and the Middle East, since the 17th of April. The Foreign Employment Bureau requested migrant workers who returned to the island prior to April 17th due to COVID-19 and are unable to depart for their employment again, to inform the bureau via, 1989.
