Man attempts to obtain INTERPOL ID by impersonating a CID officer

Colombo (News 1st); A 23-year-old male was arrested for impersonating a police officer and attempting to enter the Police Field Force Headquarters in Colombo on Tuesday.
Sri Lanka Police said the suspect had visited the Sri Lanka Section of the International Police Association at the Police Field Force Headquarters and attempted to obtain an INTERPOL ID claiming he was from the Criminal Investigations Department.
As officers grew suspicious of the man, the Narahenpita Police was informed and he was arrested.
