COLOMBO (News 1st): A meeting to discuss about issues faced by Sri Lankan artistes during the COVID-19 Pandemic, was held with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Tuesday (June 09)
“Issues faced by cameramen, musicians, cinema actors, stage drama actors were discussed during the meeting at Prime Minister’s official residence in Wijerama,” Prime Ministers Media Division said.
Prime Minister has focused his attention on the economic drawbacks of the artistes during these turbulent times as well.
“I believe that if anyone fights alone no one can win their rights. They must get used to joining the associations and unions,” Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said.
When I was the Minister of Labour, what I was told often was to not come alone. I was asked to organize ourselves as a union. I would like to request the same from the artistes, Prime Minister added.
